Hello All and may the best of the Holiday Season be yours.

I am needing a logo.  The logo will be for a thumbdrive product called "Lint Linux".  I can roughly see what I want in my mind's eye but it is getting muddled between eye and mouse.  I am thinking that the "L's" in Lint and Linux can be interlocked someway that looks cool yet does not interfere with reading the actual words Lint Linux.  maybe a "balloon" font for the lettering?  I am not 100% set in this idea so if you have another idea that you think is better, by all means, please post it and we can go from there.

I will be more than happy to do a feature on the artist at blog of helios.  Qbashi, if you are in the area, contact me....I don't think my emails are getting thru.  Much to tell you, and something you should see.

thanks

My sincere apologies for the late response.  My work has taken me away for the past three days and as I drive a large truck, I have no access to the internet while working.

What I need is the actual words "Lint Linux" designed in such a way that it can be turned into a png or jpg and used as a logo.  I am thinking about maybe some sort of balloon or shadow font, with the center filled with maybe a glass coloring of dark red or black.  I have installed many fonts to play with but as of yet, haven't found any that I think will work.  I will try to paste some of the font choices I've found here.  I hope the different fonts translated onto the .doc file attached.  I am not married to these exact fonts so they can be changed upon your decision and opinion.

You may not find it perfect but it will atleast give you the picture of your own idea so that you may suggest corrections and modifications :oui:

This is wonderful work!  You read my mind...but yes, I know it was a short story, LOL.

OK...Let's change the words around to make it read Lint Linux.  Then, could we try (listen to me say "we" like I'm doing anything) making the glass inside maybe a red that matches the red logo found at http://www.lobby4linux.com

You are definately on my christmas list!

Edit:...just playing here a bit and condensed the two as upper and lower.  I am trying to get the "L's" to cross but not having much luck.  Also, how hard would it be to have the reflection background black instead of white?

By this do you mean to add an oval behind the text? The background of the reflection is not white , it's a PNG image with transparent background (no background at all) , you don't need to change it's background color :non: , just put it on the place where you want it to be

Ah, I see what you mean...I told you I was graphically illiterate...that's why I am amazed at the beauty you people produce seemingly without effort.

OK, I will be a bit more clear now as I understand the physics of it...we are talking layers here, yes?  You see where you have the discreet reflection of the main letters?  That is brilliant by the way.  What I was wondering is if the "background" or back layer could be a glassy black with the same reflective qualities?  Is that difficult?  I achieved it once just playing around in the gimp once  but have not been able to recreate it.  Something like you see on this page http://www.linuxmint.com/blog/?p=50

Do you mean a black background like this?

Just to tell you that following 3D effect can also be added to the text  :
