Hi,
For the last six months, I have been working on the creation of a budgeting application for the film industry called Praxino Budgeting. I now have programmers building the application, but I need help with the look of it too.
I have been very impressed with the quality of work on CrystalXP and I am hoping someone can help me give this application the wow factor it needs. To do this, I need to come up with a logo for the company, icons for the application, a website, and so on. Right now, all I need is a starting point.
I have taken the 'metaphor' approach for the logo so far. I used the Iwo Jima picture and changed the flag into a film light. The resultant images shows four people hoisting up a film light - the message being that films only get made through teamwork and generosity. Praxino - the company - will be the same.
So what am I asking from CrystalXP?
Any input would be tremendous. You could design a logo, icons, the application window/forms. It might sound like a lot but it isn't. What I need at this stage is inspiration, and if you guys can come up with a solution as well, even better!
To give you an idea of my starting point, I have designed a toolbar in the Microsoft Word 2000 style listing all the menu items and where they go. I made a mistake by using red for the icons and buttons. For a program that will be used for hours/days/weeks/months, it became too "in your face". And I didn't do a good job of it anyway.
So now the look and feel I am going for will be modern. Office Word 2007 will be the starting point but I want it to have its own 'voice'. Something clean and simple but with a wow factor.
Could anyone who is interested please get back to me? The website and application will be launching in October/November, with an Alpha-tested version complete with icons, etc., being tested in September.
Right now, there is a logo on the website at www.praxino.com. But it isn't that good again.
Sincere thanks,
Dom
PS. One of the images below shows a Praxinoscope box. The logo on it could be anther reference, albeit a very different one.
