Here's the 'glass' version of Vista folder:

If his goal is to mimic as best as possible the original icon from MS, then if the original icon has a label, he had to put the label on his icon too.

I would love to have these PSDs but none of the links are working for me.  Can the creators repost them?

Thanks

The PSD file for the glass folder icon is great! I have been able to use this to create new icons for folders that I want to give that same look to in the top level of my user folder.  But, I have run into a problem and am looking for help.

I cannot get the 256px icon to display in the large size that the other vista icons already do.  Is there a trick for doing this?  My custom icons are displaying at what looks like a max of 32px.  What needs to be done for the folder icon to show at the right sizes like the other vista icons already do.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers,
Jake

You'll have to save your icons for Vista as .png. This can be done right from Photoshop! :oui: You have probably tried saving as a .ico file. Welcome to CrystalXP, hope you enjoy your time here!

Unfortunately, when customizing the folder, the .PNG file is not recognized as an .ICO file, so it will not allow me to use it.

Oh I am sorry, I was mistaken. If you want to create an icon for Vista, you'll have to make icon in a Vista compatible icon editing program. :oui: A fine example is Axialis Iconworkshop! :oui: I am not sure, but you can try to save a 256 by 256 pixel icon as an .ico file and try to use that as an icon. Else have a look at the pinned topics in Software Aid & Support, one of them is about changing icons.
