Yes, it's probably to white and I'm not sure if it's the best effect for this image. And I've got holiday so not much homework. If you provide the .psd I can help you.

Try this. It works fast and doesn't require a registration.  

I like the frame, but the reflection needs some work.  

Yeah try to do the crystallization the most simply possible.

For the frame i let you do 'cause it's great but for the crystallization something like this would be better (i think) :

Your second result is fantastic but it looks more like a steel icon then crystalline.For allowing us to make crystal effects on the badge , please provide the PSD file.

I tried my best to make the frame as crystalline as possible but the shape of frame did not accord with the crystal effects , here is what I came up with:

It is not very different from yours but still I hope that you will like it.

I think you should get rid of the bottom reflection and make the top one bigger! Other than that, it's pretty good.

Will it be possible to write a simple step guide. (without explanatory images will do)..just the steps on how you went to get the result.

I know I am asking too much of you but I am more keen on how to make it rather than seeing the final results.

I would love to make a guide for you but I can not because my exams are baffling me . I am also very anxious about the CD tutorial but what can I do ?
You may have to wait till the end of this month because in the month of June I am going to be completely free   .

Crystallization is basically the white to transparent gradient. Make selections and start practicing.
