Oh, it's a little late for my answer, but better as never.
I used Xara Xtreme or exactly the Light-Version from Magix (Grafik and Foto-Designer Version 5) cost 50 €, its one of the fastest Vectorprogramms i have ever had. Search by Google or Youtube, or look a really good Designer will work with it, www.iconka.com, see the lovely good Icons, which he makes with Xara Xtreme.
