Well...everything I learn is self-taught. My question is if it is ok for you guys to recommend a good book for a beginnner like me WHO KNOWS NOTHING or not even a slightest idea of photoshop or image editing. I really appreciate that. And I know this is not the right section to post this question. But since most of you guys, if not experts, at least masters and pros at this stuff. Hope you guys could help me out.

I would actually go for online tutorials. Way better and more extensive than books.

I learned Adobe Photoshop without the use of any books. :oui: However, there are some good books out there. You can have a look at sites which sell books in your country. Often you are able to have a look at the first few pages and see wether you like it or not. Here you can find the Training Books which are selected by Adobe.

I would recommend online tutorials too :oui: since I've learned a lot from them . They will let you discover different tools and tricks of Phosothsop but remember that the true expertise can only be enjoyed through practice and creativity

psdtuts.com is an excellent tutorial site for PS but many tutorials there are long and intricate , so I would suggest you good-tutorials.com which offers a separate section for "Photoshop-Basics" :oui: other categories are interesting too

There is a company called Total Training that makes training programs both online and on DVD. They used to bundle it with CS1 but they stopped, anyways they are really great. You can get a 7-day trial of the online library if needed.

Another great site with neat tutorials is veerle.duoh.com
And another:
tutorial9.net

If you really want to get comprehensive book training, there is probably a Photoshop Bible, these books are gigantic. They are very in depth and seem to cover the entire program.
