Commandment 3: In the use of the word "avatar", when referring to Asher's, must have a capital "A".

Good point , but if you observe the title of this topic it says "How to make Asher's Avatar' it nowhere says how to use it actually Garbo wanted to learn the process/steps of making such an avatar and he hasn't used it yet I provided the PSD file mainly for learning purpose so that everyone can learn from it none is forced to use it...

It's interesting that you've supplied an avatr for Garbo, but everyone else seems to have used it

I must say that though I've learnt a fair bit about different ways in making things, your approach still seems to me more complicated than my own Though mine tends to end up with a hundred highlight layers...

Actually, Asher's approach seems much simpler than mine or yours. He's just more creative.

PS - I just received my Adobe Photoshop Classroom in a Book. That's the official manual. Hopefully, I'll discover some more techniques/features there.

BY the way, asher, I need a help could you please tell me how to change the avatar's shape.  
 
I hope you understood me. Now, its square, I need to change it to a shield. Could you please give me a psd file please...
