| Newklear One Profil: New Penguin | Does anyone use GIMP to make these? I dont want to buy a 900$ program, just to make penguins, and GIMP is free!

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Top Penguin | They. Are. Not. Just. Penguins. They are God. So show them a little more respect the next time. Anyway, you can use GIMP, and I'm sure many people DO use it. It's just that we all already have Photoshop. I doubt anyone bought it exclusively for making Tuxes.
ghostnatyphon Love, is beautiful. Profil: Top Penguin | You don't need Photoshop, anyone that says "OMg U muZ Hav PhotShupz Nub" is mad, hence their language. Anything you can do in Photoshop can be done in Gimp But Gimp's free, so better And welcome to CrystalXP!

If you say that anything that's done in Photoshop can be done in The Gimp, you could as well say that anything done in Photoshop can be done in Paint.

Anything done with photoshop can be done in paint! You just need a heck of a lot of time and patience Heck anything you can do in photoshop I could do with pen and paper, I'll just need a lot of paper, a few thousand pens and about 137 years But they are of course extremes, Gimp is a lot closer in terms of ability, so it's a lot easier to imitate something made with photoshop with Gimp, than it would be to use Paint (Or pen and paper for that matter)
Gruzz Profil: Modo | Yes that's exactly what I meant. They're just different tools, so the comparison between The Gimp and Photoshop often doesn't work. Although they're both design applications of course. Also have a look at Photoshop Elements (much cheaper but also more basic) and Paint Shop Pro.
truth ------------------------- Profil: Big Penguin | I agree, gimp is good. Another good GPL Application is Inkscape. I made all of my penguins in inkscape.
