But the only thing that has actually only changed, is the user interface, and the application is the same. If you want to make very beautifull images (or edit them ) you can better use Photoshop

Like Asher said there are plenty of tutorials for the gimp that are bound to work with gimpshop. If they don't then jsut use the gimp. The gimp is more stable and has fewer to zero faults.
