[REQUEST]tutorial for chrome badge/emblem

i have a picture (text) and i was wondering if anyone knows how to make it look like this : ?
i searched for tutorials (and found them).. but they are not quite what im looking for

 

(kinda like the chrome badges on cars)

Hi Bogskii, from what I can tell you want to make a chrome out of a text/logo/image. I actually have done some of them with Blender. If its text just add text load your font and Voila! if its a logo, I recommend using Inkscape or some other vectorial graphics software like Illustrator or Corel, once you have your vectors, import it in Blender (I prefer Inkscape SVG format). Once inported in edit mesh just add width (extrude) and some bevel maybe. After that its just applying a material, some reflections, high specular and hardness, maybe Blinn shader. Maybe this is not the place to look for, but here are some links:

Some are outdated but you can find tons of nice Blender tutorials about chrome effect in google.
Here's an example of a logotype in SVG made 3D applied material and all I made for a friends mod (not chrome though, but you can actually achieve any effect).

i realized 3d would be better off done with other programs like cinema 4d and what you suggested .. blender  [img]style_emoticons//Great:
