Does anyone know the name of the "wave" effect in the header at the top of the site? Or have a link to a tutorial that shows how to do it? I've been trying to duplicate the effect but can't get it to look good.

The header of CrXP has some wide curves which can be obtained by using Pen Tool in Photoshop , you just need to make the background the curves will do the rest

Could you explain a little bit further?  I'm still not sure how to get it.  I can make the swoopy lines with the pen tool, but how do I make them into gradients?  The gradient overlay only works with a mask right?  If its a shape, not a curvy line.
