There is many ways to do a free domain...

But do you want to host yourself or you want a free host to ?

If you need a host try proboards

best one is webng.com it has ftp

and btw.. is it possible to get a full domain name for free?? like www.yoursite.com instead of www.yoursite.someotherguy'ssite.com ??

I can't remember the place, but there was one hosting service that if you had an account with them for like a year, and they looked at your site and discovered original and useful content, then they would pay for your domain name.

Sadly, I don't remember the name of said hosting service.

Other then that you can try godaddy, its like 1 dollar a year, which i'm sure most can afford.

 
 
You can get a full domain name, but not for free. All the sites ive tried you have to pay a certain amount each year.
but if anyone does find a place where you can get them free, please let me know
