That's very easy sosoe222 , just make curves with Pen Tool fill them with brush stroke of 1-2px and  merge all the layers , give layers Outer Glow .

That's it :jap:

PS :ar: Topic to be moved

To make the curves use this tool (red circle) and this adjustments for the glow (I dont know the english for "superposition" :err: but it's 8th of the list ):

A brush of 2px size would be suitable for the effect  .

First make a curved path with the Pen Tool :ar: now Select Brush Tool and pick a hard circular brush of 2px radius :ar: set the foreground color to white :ar: create a new layer :ar: with the new layer selected , press A to pick the 'Direct Selection Tool' , right-click on the path and select 'Stroke Path' , select Brush from the list but do not enable the 'Simulate Pressure' option .

Good Luck :jap:

i like to make high resolution pics... like 1280x1024 and 2px is kinda small for that...
i can`t get the outer glow to work either... it`s either to small or to big...
photoshop is a powerful utility ... but i still have much to learn...

edit: i came up with this... any advice?... `cause i don`t like it... :beurk:

edit: sorry for the long post... but i made another version... i used a bigger brush and came up with this...

edit:last one i promise...

can anyone tell me wich one is the best and how to improve it?

a bit of "off topic question"... why is it called lightning bolt... because lightning has straight lines...and hard angles...
this is more with curves... i call it some type of aurora... but it`s only my opinion...

I have used 'Soft Light' and 'Overlay' as blending options for the Outer Glow , actually the glow of the curves is a complex fusion of different layers having different Blendiing modes

Background terrible is  ASHAR, what gradient you used for background? Anyway, comment the stripes only please:

It does look terrible in browser because it resizes the image, so I suggest you to save it and view it

edit:
this worked for me...

if its not good enough... just play with the spread, range and size... until u get the effect you want...
