gimp user bar tut:ima gonna tell ye how to make a user bar with gimp lyke 
okai... first open teh gimp make a new image 6x6 use advanced options make the backround transparency 
now when your image is made click on view zoom 1.6000 now it should be a transparent square now use the pencil tool and make it circle #1 now it should appear as a square a black square when you click so now you make a slash / or the other whatever way you prefer now save it as a pattern
now make a 300x19 make backround white now start out using a graident but for gods sake please just please choose a graident that goes with the render color or it will look ugleh now you go to layers and right click and duplicate layers now use the magical pattern and use the pattern you saved drag it on to the userbar now thats way to bold so
we are going to do a magic trick its called go into layers and use the overlay button ok now download the visitor font use the ecxlipse button where you whish to put your text make the size 10 now for your render if you dont have one yet i recmond googles image search now save the image double click it obiously now put in a backrond that your render does not have that color now cut the backround or use the magic wand now your backround should be tranparent now use the scale to make the image fit ta-da and hopefully your done
