Hi DidCart and welcome to CrystalXP

You can't right-click and change the icon for MS Office so what many do is use a program called IconTweaker.  This will allow to change most system icons.  I'm sure you can change these icons too.  If this doesn't work you can try ResEdit.

Here are the links:

:ar: ResEdit
 :ar: IconTweaker
 :ar: ResEdit Software Presentation

Enjoy

Well, you can do that if you modify shell32.dll with ResEdit
But there is a nice gadjet called Y'z toolbar which will allow you to change these icons (pictures :mdr: )
Whan you install the application you can find many theme suites for it and customise many as you can
(oh! did I mention that you can also create yours? :he: )

Can someone give me a hand with learning ResEdit?

I tried IconTweaker but it doesn't do Program Icons (or I can't get it to) and I can't figure out how to change the actual icon fo a program through ResEdit... (not the shortuct icon though)

You can have a look at here to see what ResEdit can do  (changing the msoeres.dll/shell32.dll)
It's really hard to explain what ResEdit can do since it does a lot

Yes, I'm looking around for them too, quite a hard program to use at first.  It took me a while just to figure out exactly what was going on :he:

Thank you

Well, ResEdit is a software with you can have a look at your system resources (.dll, .exe stc...) and not like you see them by default, you can change some charactoristics of them :oui:

Example :ar: The windows icons are mostly located in shell32.dll in C>Windows>System32 folder. You can use Resedit and open that .dll with the application and add some icons you deserve and save it. (actually, you have to save it in another place and replace the original later  )

:info: shell32.dll not only contins icons but the AVI files for 'Moving', 'Copying', ect.. and the logoff dialog backgrounds and butons and many more

It's really fun (well, for me it is :he: ) to hack in to your own system and maintain it to be what you want for a greater extent.

:caution: But I must say that there is a Risk coming with this because you've to be always accurate and careful  otherwise there will be no excuse :mdr:

If you have your own icons, and you want to change the Office icons(im assuming so you can see them on your dock or desktop), locate the actual file(ie. If you want to change your Word icon got to c>program files>Microsoft Office>Winword) and right click on it and create a shortcut to the desktop. You will be able to edit this new icon as you can change it to whatever design you want.
