uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | Quit yakking and give me my lunch, boy! EDIT: So I took my college's Math Placement test, where they check your skills with pre-calculus. 95% ... only one wrong, and that was because I couldn't get the online graph to plot right. Over a year of Mathematical inactivity, but I still got it! WARNING: "I still got it" has been used for rhetorical effect and is formally incorrect. ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | Yes, well, the parallel universe theories are just those: theories. As there is no way of actually verifying them, we can never really know if they're true or false. I've read a lot on them. Take my word, don't waste your time. But it is interesting (though useless) to think that there is an alternative universe where I am dating Keira Knightley and Kate Beckinsale at the same time ...
As for space-time continuum, I assume you mean relativity? The basic theories are easy enough to comprehend, but you'll require some understanding of Calculus for a more profound grasp. ---------------

LOL, tempting, but I think I'll take Keira Knightley and Kate Beckinsale even in my dreams over Deck-Hand Obvious. ---------------

Ironically, most of Physics is theory - well developed theory, but still theory. There isn't much we understand about our universe in all honesty, or even our world, which is pretty fascinating and sort of... cool.

I wouldn't mind being able to swap to an alternate universe of my choice... ah well, dream on ey? EDIT: forgot what I was going to say Has anyone got xbox Live? I ordered the month gold membership for £1! Sounded like a great offer, but by accepting that it was then set (and it does this with all payment options) to auto renew. The only way to cancel the auto renewal, or your account in general, is to ring up microsoft support. Bearing in mind that means talking to some person in a call centre somewhere in the east (thinking from european/american perspective) being on hold for up to an hour (Microsoft customer care line is exceptionally busy 24/7) and then being told that they can't actually cancel your membership/card or giving you an obscure code and telling you to ring up 'x days' before your renewal. Microsoft are damn good at squeezing money out of people. No one seems to know about the auto renewal feature, as Microsoft certainly don't mention it (must be buried in some terms document somewhere, but the average schmuck won't read that - I didn't) and then they make it nigh impossible to cancel your membership/card! You have to ring up, go through operator after operator, and either get nothing or get told to ring back! After being on hold for 30 minutes, I gave up and just edited my payment details: changed my card holder name to 'a', address to 'a', a random expiry date, and Microsoft can send me all the emails they like.[/rant] EDIT2: Oh and... bugger I've forgotten. Oh yea! iTunes and Safari keep lagging and crashing on me - Apple software on Windows Vista just doesn't seem to work Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 07-04-2009 at 09:54:50 PM ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | Only intended for people who care about using 's in names. OK, I think I now know when to use 's in names ending with s and when not to. Let's say one individual's or family's name ends in s; e.g. Charles, St. James, Jones, Dickens, Harris, etc. As they are already ending with an s, you normally should add an 's. So they'd be Charles's, St. James's, Jones's, Dickens's, Harris's, etc. Of course, this is not always valid, for example: Bill Gates' Microsoft, as opposed to Bill Gates's Microsoft. However, I think that is because the possessive of the common noun "gates" is gates' and therefore it sounds awkward to say Gates's. But if there is a family name that does not end in s; e.g. Connor, Smith, Taylor, etc. then the plural of their possessives shall become the Connors', the Smiths', the Taylors', etc. So, what do you think? PS: French seems so much easier now ... Message edited by uttaresh on 07-05-2009 at 12:12:44 AM ---------------

I really hate when people can't write properly. It shows they carelessness. The only problem I have in grammar is where to put commas. I have almost no idea about where they are supposed to be. PS: (message for Ghost) I love your avatar and signature!!! PS2: Just looked at Ghost's quote and now I have a question for him when he comes back. Are you goth? ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | OK, so my parents were talking today; jabbering on, as usual, about how my life is going to change. Well anyway, they think I have an Indian accent!! UNBELIEVABLE! I have talked liked a Britisher (earlier somewhat American) to the degree that even THEY cannot distinguish! Now I'm not saying an Indian accent is bad or anything (incorrect, though, in every way), but this just goes to show how poorly my parents know me. ---------------

uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | I guess so, but you wouldn't believe how stubborn, proud, and arrogant they are! And in other news, after viewing the Transport Authority's website, I drove for two hours to North Delhi to apply for an international driving licence. Upon arrival, I was told that the address had changed, and was redirected to another building about half-an-hour from there. I reached there, asked if that was where international licences were issued. After receiving a response in the affirmative, I filled out the requisites, had a physical test taken, and tried to submit my form. The guy then tells me that ever since the shift a few months back, the North Delhi office only handles licences for persons living in North Delhi! My licence would only be available at the South Delhi office, which is around 2 miles from my house ... So then we drove back for another two hours. All in all, almost 6 hours wasted because no-one saw fit to update the official website. Thank you very much, Government of India.
