That's interesting thing you've stumbled upon Uttaresh, I think it deserves some looking into... I could do with a project to keep me occupied I better write this down somewhere... I could do with installing VS too anyway, it's fun to easily write a few programs every now and then - occasionally with some point!

It's pretty simple to learn, and there are tons of really good tutorials around - even Microsoft's tutorials, or suggested tutorials, that's how I learnt

I'm on Ubuntu 9.04 now, it's running real slow, and can't get it to see my wireless. And still waiting for it to install various nvidia packages in the hope it might finally see my graphics card. 8 had some proprietary nvidia drivers already when I got it and OpenSuSE could see my wireless...

We're on the 64th page... and I think I'm running 64bit Ubuntu 9.04 on my laptop (AMD Turion 64 x2)

I think you should go for a monitor with DVI, or better yet, HDMI support. I've had DVI support for years in my GPU, but I only started using it a year back with my new monitor, and the improvement is very noticeable.
 
And considering the fact that my 22" monitor only looks good with a maximum of 1680x1050 resolution, I'm pretty sure 1080p for 23" is already pushing it. Perhaps if you were buying a 25" or larger monitor, I'd recommend the 2048x1152, but not for 23".

I think most TV channels now let you watch their shows for free on their websites. Of course, they're not HD as on TV, but still, it's something.
