The restore process has so far taken... 1h 40m (approx). Annoying thing is I can't do anything much else on my computer, can't obviously use my iPod, and I can't pause the damn music in iTunes! ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | Well I just did my mom's and it took probably ten minutes from start to finish. Most of the stuff on there though is video and apps. Too bad I can't have folders on mine, but hey... if I get an iPhone 4 at some point, then I'll have wallpapers and multitasking, etc (which my mom won't have). ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | I'm so annoyed I can't have the wallpaper on my Ipod Touch 2G... I feel I'd get more out of it if I went back to the old 3.x jailbreak... Took 2h total, and then iTunes crashed so I don't even know if it's synced properly yet. Took me 5 minutes just to restart the iPod it was that slow after the update. Library seems to have synced OK and everything still working... shall see what iTunes says when the USB cable finally works (the USB connector is busted it has to be in at a slight angle to work properly. Apple stuff just seems to break after a bit for no reason EDIT: And I actually really like the new dock For some reason the quick edit option keeps sort of, timing out... so I type a bit and then it resets as if I clicked the button again... Urgh normal edit takes so long to load EDIT2: ARGH this is driving me mental. My computer is really slowing up badly, and Safari seems to recognise middle clicks as just normal LB clicks... I'm going on my xbox. Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 06-21-2010 at 09:59:15 PM ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I like the new calculator button personally... PS: I believe iOS 4 has been jailbroken already EDIT: Btw, why haven't you been in the cavern in like... forever? Message edited by Tanshin on 06-22-2010 at 12:03:17 AM ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Yea, the new calculator button does look a lot better, now I can stop wishing I was able to delete it. Had to hide it away at the back... I read that it was jailbroken ja, dunno if I will or not. It always gets real slow when I do.
The cavern! Oh my God! I guess I just haven't made the time for it recently I usually donate the evening to playing on the xbox with my friends (we use it like a social network mainly) and then during the day, it's a mixture of revision, star trek films, Facebook inbox (only bit I currently use) and just living on my iPod Oh and Battle for Wesnoth, I spend a lot of time on that if I'm honest.
I need to head on over again, still got all my ages to finish! I might see if I can get on later today. Got an exam until 15:00, then planing to go on the xbox for a bit, then off and then back on so I could get on inbetween
Oh, and my uncle is on the verge of dying, he was found in a hospital at Christmas after having soem sort of serious fall (and then falling in the hospital and cracking his head open, thanks the NHS) so he's been in a nursing home, slowly dying of alcohol poisoning (seriously kids, don't binge drink or just drink too much in general, it ain't pretty) and now it's got to the point where his organs are about to fail him. In some ways it's good because if it took any longer he'd probably start to forget everything, memory's bad enough already. I'm not too emotionally bothered, I didn't really know him at all (he once took me shopping when I was 5 and left me outside a pub for 2 hours while he had a pint) but it's stressful for my mum (her brother, she's having to cope with it along with everything else she copes with, she gets stressed easily, etc)
So kids, don't over-drink! You'll lose all your strength, your organs will give out on you without warning, you'll effectively develop Alzheimer's and you'll be in unbearable pain for hours on end that'll stop you from sleeping for days at a time and you'll have to be drugged up to the eyeballs. Not to mention you'll have a huge belly just filled with crap that'll have to be deflated and your feet and hands will swell to stupid proprtions and lose all feeling. It ain't pretty. ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | When you do get in, go to the Guild of Robots' Bevin and say "OHBot dance" It's quite amusing And that not good to hear. I personally have been pretty much scared away from drinking because my mom got in a serious accident over 25 years ago at the fault of a drunk driver (she was sober). She weighs 86 lbs (approx 39 kg) and is still going through surgery and daily pain as a result of it to this day. Message edited by Tanshin on 06-22-2010 at 03:43:58 PM ---------------

turtle bacon Profil: Top Penguin | I forget when I drink so I try to drink little as possible.
My backslash key fell off my laptop. Never used it and it yesterday decided to just fall off. I'm not very surprised seeing as how my other HP keyboard key fell off along with multiple keys falling off the ones at school. ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | The people who live down my street had an HP keyboard for their HP computer. I swear, both of them were breaking left and right They were missing at least three keys and I'm pretty sure that computer was missing something of value (not sure what, it just never seemed to work right). ---------------

Yeah I'm pretty much never buying an HP product again. ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | He's just passed away this morning. Mum's taking it fairly well, but she's had months to think about it. Now if only England could win the match tonight, it'd be a real help... And ironically we'll probably both be having a glass of wine tonight. maquire202 I never think of the future. It comes soon enough. Profil: Penguin | Hey guys long time no see =). Haven't been on here for a while now, school can be a pain. Sorry about your uncle ghost, hope u guys will do alright. I bet i missed so much here ^^ ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I'd just like to thank Ghosty here for helping me discover that we got a telemarketer call from overseas last night!
And I must say, I was shocked this morning when I read Neowin's post about the iPhone 4's new insides and seeing that the majority of the comments were positive! This is huge (especially on Neowin). And I agree, the insides may actually make it worth the price.
Now I don't know what to try and save up for, 3DS or iPhone 4. ---------------

maquire202 I never think of the future. It comes soon enough. Profil: Penguin | The products from Apple are seriously overpriced now. Basically they cost about 50% of what the parts cost. So basically u pay 50% for the product itself and u also pay 50% for the image of Apple. =/
---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | While I'd love an iPhone 4, I honestly can't justify buying that over the 3DS. I know I'd use the 3DS to it's full potential, however with my phone usage habits (mainly just calling for a ride) and my iPod habits (which mainly consists of apps that I don't use very often) I can't see myself using the money that I could buy a 3DS with for an iPhone.
@Ghost - I was taking a look at some footage with the Kinect that was shown on a late night show here in the US and I can see the delay. So it looks like that's something that's really happening while you play. According to the rep from Microsoft, it was in development for a few years... and if that's the case, they didn't do a very good job. ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | I saw the exact same video Tan, was just watching it this morning (thank you Philip De Franco!) the lag delay looks like it could be annoying. Means you couldn't have any real sensitive games that need precise timing. I wonder if it's a hardware or software thing? Whether the xbox doesn't have the processing capability to process what it's seeing, identify you and transfer that to the game, or if it's just poor decoding. I won't be getting one, not if it's laggy, not if it's so expensive as well, not worth the money. And apparently they will be selling at a loss I'd agree with the 3DS Tan. Personally I'd get the iPhone 4 but if you aren't going to maximise the use a lot there's no point. EDIT: iOS4 and iTunes 9.2... the syncing is just so much faster Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 06-23-2010 at 06:31:29 PM ---------------

Just tearing down all parts and putting a price on every millimeter of electronic in there doesn't really show what the product should cost. It doesn't account for software development, research and development, design, etc. etc. ---------------

Comcast is bouncing around speeds today. It gets as low a 100kbs a sec and the whole way up to the pic above. ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | Actually, it looks like Apple isn't ripping you off with the new iPhone. According to iSuplli the parts in the phone cost around $188 for the 16 GB version, which retails for $199 here in the US. ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | As Poiru said, that may be $10 less but it's on a contract that will cost you a lot. They give you the phone for $188 but they'll have paid more for it because they get it back on the contract. Some contracts can't be cancelled at all, and almost all can't be without some form of payment (usually worth the majority of the rest of the contract if not more than) hence the PAYG price.
Apple may be screwing you over; but hey, it's still pretty ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I personally didn't think that they were ripping people off (nor did I really care). I was more referencing this post:

And yes, contracts suck. We have one of the basic plans from AT&T (and it's a family plan) that we almost never use, and yet our cell bills are still over $60 a month. We payed $10 for each phone as well. ---------------
