| ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Last message on previous page: I've only so far seen the xbox stuff. On that note, has anyone seen anyone actually using Kinect that didn't look faked? Solei's piece quite clearly was, their syncing was terrible, the adverts weren't real, even at last year's E3 when they used it the syncing looked off. And the stuff at E3 so far could have been easily faked.
People have apparently actually used it but... why aren't Microsoft willing to show some real demos? They're releasing it soon for Christ's sake. ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | You'd hope they know what they're doing because of the fact that it's being released so soon. Did I read correctly that it's going to cost $150, or was that a rumor the other day? If the syncing is off, and it's real footage, then that's going to be a sad delay making it tough for efficient gaming.
If that's the case, I have a feeling that people aren't going to readily buy this especially when it's a new kind of technology and in this economy.
I'm kinda proud of Nintendo this time around, they went straight for the games. I'm pretty sure the only thing they revealed hardware wise was the 3DS, which looks incredible. ---------------

| |
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Nope, the syncing is always ahead of the person. Hence the person is only acting in time (or attempting in time) to the footage. I don't think there's been a 100% real use of the motion capturing. (Mic and camera are easy enough to pull off) EDIT: Oh and I'm screwed. I've worked out in the next two days (I have 3 exams) for two of them I only need 1/2 of the marks to get an A overall in my A-Level in those two subjects (Physics and Chemistry) however the last one is further maths, in which to get a B overall I need A* quality marks, on a subject I haven't revised for a long time and it isn't going well. So the best outcome is A in Maths/Chem/Phys and a C (at most a B if I'm lucky as hell) in further maths. But my university offer specifies an A in both maths and further maths. = screwed, to put it mathematically. Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 06-16-2010 at 05:44:01 PM ---------------

turtle bacon Profil: Top Penguin | iTunes 9.2 is out for windows. Tempted to install 4.0 GM, But I'm still restoring the firmware so it'll run like its brand new when the final is released.
Anyways anything 3D has lost all interest to me. I don't see what so cool about it. I'm still amazed by the quality IMAX HD is at theaters. Message edited by turtle bacon on 06-17-2010 at 02:37:45 AM ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | Watching 3D with glasses is a pain because I have to put them over my regular glasses That's why I'm excited for the 3DS because no glasses are required. ---------------

OK, very simply: 18 year old guy, 13 year old girl. He is 5 years and 3 months older than her to be precise. I think you know where this is going so: Your thoughts? ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I believe that it would be illegal in the US without parental consent until the 13yr old is 18 if you know what I mean. ---------------

Let's suppose, hypothetically, that these two are simply in a relationship. Nothing more, nothing less, for the moment. ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | But this is the thing about age difference, it is entirely dependent upon social situations. And I suppose actual ages. You may see a 65 Aussie with a 30 thai, but you wouldn't see a 45 aussie with a 10 thai. And in this case you might see a 30 with a 25, but most people wouldn't accept an 18 with a 13. ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Interesting...
You know the origin of that by the way? "Who Dares Wins", Qui audet adipiscitur, is the motto of the SAS. In many countries in fact. ---------------

thetmyster Life is a maze, Love is a riddle Profil: Penguin Pro | Hm, No, I didn't know the origin of that phrase, Seems to be rather fitting. ---------------

ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | If anyone has iTunes and hasn't yet updated to 9.2, be wary. I've just updated, and Recovery (Eminem) has just started downloading the songs. As per normal downloading the songs (approx 10Mb each) takes a few seconds, but then the "Processing File" takes almost 5 minutes for each song and both processors are at 100%. I can't hear the music over the fan for Christ's sake!
Normally the processing file takes a few seconds, and certainly did before I updated to 9.2 so I can only assume there's changes in this version to how the music files are processed that's caused the slowdown. Only stuff I've found on the internet have people suggesting my computer is just really slow and shit, but since this worked yesterday that can't be the case.
Ugh Apple damn you... release iOS4 already and make me happy! ---------------

| |
Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I haven't had any issues since updating, however I also haven't downloaded any music yet ---------------

Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | You noticed that too? I can just picture the guys with the long scraggly hair with glasses in the audience suddenly crossing their legs. I wonder how much they were paid... ---------------

| |
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | Urgh... they must have got a fair bit, you'd need to to agree to being ogled by nerds... But I'm betting anything that the first thing all those nerdy Nintendo boys noticed was the 3DS, it probably took a few more moments to register who was attached to the end of it EDIT: Did anyone else watch through the entire iOS4 keynote and see the Game Centre part? Apple's venture into the gaming market came in handheld form and to be fair they did it well. Now it seems we'll soon have something not dissimilar to Xbox Live or PS Network (I don't actually know what the playstation one is called, or if Nintendo even have one for that matter). Obviously this sort of thing has already appeared with OpenFeint and Plus, but they were awkward inside of actual applications (On several I've used them on I just ended up disabling them completely) and this is Apple making it for their own product, so presumably who better... should be interesting. Want iOS4 NOW! Seriously, I never thought I could hate GMT so much... Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 06-21-2010 at 06:33:23 PM ---------------

| |
Tanshin Profil: Penguin Pro | I actually didn't watch Apple's Keynote because I know I can read about it somewhere. I was personally amused when Bill Trinnen made fun of them when the remote wasn't working in the Zelda demo.
Closest Nintendo has btw is Nintendo WiFi Connection (which is free and always will be apparently). ---------------

| |
ghostnatyphon Who Dares Wins Profil: Penguin Pro | I don't use Nintendo stuff enough I don't really use the Wii much (it just doesn't interest me) and I never could be bothered tryignt o find people to play with on my DS, there was just too much effort for too little result EDIT: Donwloading iOS4 as we speak]]]] type. EDIT2: The above is an example of my bloody keyboard jamming. This laptop can't have long left before the hardware finally melts on me... EDIT3: I'm impressed. 310MB of software, being downloaded by millions of people - 5 minutes. And a surprising number of the people in the UK don;t seem to be able to download (keeps saying 3.1.3 current version)... HA! EDIT4: But iTunes wants to backup my iPod first... which for no apparent reason is looking to take at least an hour, judging by the progress bar. To say this normally takes a few minutes, and I've already done it before downloading iOS4... I'm annoyed. Message edited by ghostnatyphon on 06-21-2010 at 07:23:52 PM ---------------
