All beliefs are just a way of looking at the world The "..guy who rules over everything.." is a rather objective view and not, as you imply, a less logical way of thinking -  it is in fact a very logical conclusion, and certainly reasonable, regardless of it's truth or validity.
 
And yes, that's one ugly splash picture! Possibly why thetmyster said creepy - it certainly gives a nasty impression of the church

That's why I warned you, and the crappy quality might be because the church where founded 1966. I'm not sure when the site where made, but its not new or very up to date.  
Make a picture in smaller pieces made it load faster in the old days (modem etc. ) Cause one small 10kb picture takes a lot less time then a full size 1mb pic, now a days we don't see it cause our internet is fast enough.

Speed mainly has to do with the amount of connections (at least, these days) / http requests your browser has to make with the server.

You're forgetting the most important factor: Ping.

Yeah yeah, They're a lot of factors that decide how fast internet traffic take etc. etc.
