uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | I get the BSOD whenever I try to upload an image to ImageShack whilst running Photoshop. This only started happening when they changed their Uploading Dialogue Box to a newer, Flash version.
Occasionally, I also get it when my RAM usage reaches its max. ---------------

legace Profil: Moderator | I cleaned my case, tweaked fan speed/position, etc. and managed to shave a few degrees of all components.
I'll be installing a Scythe Kama Bay (120mm fan + grill) to the front and I expect it to improve airflow.
Because I would then have 2 intake fants and only one exhaust fan, the case would suffer from overpressure, which is a good thing for me (the air will escape through all the holes [instead of air coming in when underpressure]). = much less dust (intake fans have filters) Message edited by legace on 04-16-2009 at 04:40:47 PM ---------------

You mean me, right?
Oh well. I just like to play with my PC. Some have a passion for cars, I have a passion for computers..
You could say I am a geek (Not the stereotypical geek, though. I don't have glasses and I don't look like a idiot) ---------------

| |
uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | LOL, still ... where do you learn all this tweaking stuff from? I would experiment on my PC, too ... but I don't want to blow it up. Of course, I'm going to get a new computer in 3 months anyway, so I guess I'm good now ...
I remember way back when I was into tweaking (not as much as you are), I wanted to submerge my entire PC in liquid to keep it cool -- my parents didn't allow it. No, I did not make this up, it was an experiment many people were trying; no idea what happened to it.
So got any suggestions for improving performance? ---------------

There is a oil cooling system (not like normal liquid cooling) available. Check it out http://www.maximumpc.com/article/f [...] page=0%2C0 and http://www.hardcorecomputer.com/Pr [...] ctor1.aspx
Get CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/b [...] ading-slim
Go to Tools, then Startup (http://www.ccleaner.com/img/screen/screen_305.png). Post a screenshot of it to me.
Start -> Run -> type in services.msc -> click on "Action" then Export (or something like that - don't have English XP) -> save as a .txt file.
Now open the .txt file, press CTRL and A, then CTRL and V, then go to www.pastebin.com, CTRL and V on the space provided, then press send. Then post the address of the page here.. ---------------

| |
uttaresh The Penguin Master Profil: Penguin Pro | All right, here's the Startup screenshot. And here's the Services List. http://pastebin.com/m2bfb8f3e By the way, you said "Now open the .txt file, press CTRL and A, then CTRL and V...". You meant Ctrl+C first, right. truth ------------------------- Profil: Big Penguin | You may disable that realtek config, adobe starters, google update, quick time task (bonjour service as well),real player(tkbell), ehtray (if you don't use media center much, but this will also disable volume level indicators). This is not complete list, use "Autoruns"(the best tool in my opinion) to view actual list of all start-up things on you PC. Message edited by truth on 04-17-2009 at 10:27:06 AM ---------------
