Well...I could draw and I have been taking programming classes. But I can't really use any graphical software to create my anime and my drawing. I have been pretty interested in photoshop as it is the most powerful tool and most of the stuff such as gaming, which is what I prefer is done with photoshop and maya or other software the like. By browsing through this forum and the pictures you guys created, I can assure that most of you at least have 3 - 5 year experience or an expert in photoshop. But I really wanna use this tool as well...But I am a complete noob, meaning know nothing about photoshop...I should stress I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT PHOTOSHOP even resize the image or something. Think of it just like a new born baby who does not know anything at all. I would like to have a book that just acts like a mentor or a teacher that steer you through the process and the procedure of learning. Hence, what BOOK do you guys recommend? I don't trust most of the teachers in school.  First, short hours for learning and second they don't really teach you a lot of stuff...If you can catch up, you are doomed. It would be better to learn it from the book or ask questions of you guys...because photoshop is time-consuming, and it needs time for you to digest what you have learned. There is no shortcut to it.

I would like some books for gaming. Do I need a book for 3D and a book for 3D? I would like a book that's really for noob. That's, for a person knows nothing about digital or graphical image or editing. I hope you guys could help. Besides, it will hurt your eyes if you keep reading the tutorial online in front of the PC...and most of the tutorial online is not detailed. Hope you guys could help me out.

Have a look here! :) I'd say 'Adobe Photoshop CS4 Classroom in a Book', is a fine book to start with. ;)

Yeah, it is. I have Classroom in a Book for CS3, and it covers all the basic elements you need to know. :)

But it still doesn't teach you how to get creative. ;)

If you're an absolute beginner, things like opacity, layer styles, shapes, etc. won't say much to you. So you'll either have to learn the real basics yourself or learn them from a book. :) Don't worry though, you'll learn the basics fast enough. ;)
