Contest : the most beautiful snapshot!!
You're on holiday? You have a camera? So, you can take part in this new contest and maybe win a CrystalXP DiscoTux  t-shirt or a Func CrystalXP mousepad !
 
 
 

• Your mission if you choose to accept it: take beautiful snaps dignified postcards that we can find on holiday!
• Bonus : if you've the required equipment, you can also make a panorama.

 
Information:

• Our terrible jury of administrators will come back to select the three snapshots that they will prefer (from 3 different authors).  
• Authors of images selected will receive a  "DiscoTux" t-shirt or a "Func CrystalXP" mousepad (The choice is yours).
• Team members can participate in this contest.

• The photograph must be taken by YOU! If we discover that you aren't the author of a snapshot, you will be disqualified!
• The photograph must have a minimum resolution of 1280x1024px
• You can make some basic retouching (crop, colors, blur, minor improvements) but no big special effects (for example : it's forbidden to add a sunset on your photo)
• Each author can suggest some snapshots, so you can increase your chances of being selected!
• The snap will be made in the vein of "it could be a postcard".
• No pornographic, gory or shocking photographs.
• End of contest: Sunday 30th August, 2009 (midnight Paris time).

   
 
How to participate?

• The topic is at your disposal to show your creations to members of forum, to receive critics in order to improve them. Thank you for not sending large pictures on the forum. If your picture is too large, you can make a miniature or give a link.    
• The creation that you want to suggest for the contest must be posted in this topic AND it must be sent by email to:

• This creation must be completely finished and couldn't be changed (1 email per creation).

LOL, I know it means awesome in French, but terrible means horrible in English. The word you are looking for is terrific.

I can't submit one b'coz I don't have a camera at all waiting for the other entries though

At school we've got some good Single-lens reflex camera's. Too bad the school is closed this summer. Perhaps I'll try something with our home camera.

Well I am leaving for New Jersey in a few days, and I'm sure I'll find something worthwhile over there; but my dad won't let me take our SLR, so ...

Ooh, that will be fun.

We're going to Boston on August 1st, however I'm not sure where there would be something pretty up there... However they do have the Gardens (or as they say... the Gaadens)

EDIT: I didn't see that it had to be posted and sent

EDIT 2: Is it okay to send more than one e-mail if we follow that format? I know that I will be taking pictures over various lengths of time so I'm not sure when I would send them. Plus my ISP has a size limit.

I don't think it's the best idea to drop by Paris just for this contest ... many of the entries will be of Parisian sites anyway, as most entrants are going to be French.

What I mean is that if you take shots of Paris, it probably won't be too out of the ordinary for the judges, who are probably French.

It's nice, however I'm not sure about how dark it is.

The camera tried to adjust to the glare from the sun, which is why it turned out darker than it should've.

He could always do some minor touching on the image with Photoshop/GIMP/etc

It would take some very heavy touching up to correct that solar glare.

I'm sure you could do something with highlights and such.

I'm uploading some pics now, however they are very large and will take time.
